things are looking good

Don’t forget to check out WAHS Fest 2005 at the Satellite Ballroom tonight (August 12). Lots of bands will be playing, including Travis Elliot, Body for Karate, Cornelius and Me, and others.

Saturday (August 13th) Worn in Red and TRMNSPRX will rock out the Tea Bazaar.

Itsmeaningless.com
, a site dedicated to Magnetic Fields covers, has a interpretation of “You and Me and the Moon” (originally off the Magnetic Fields’ Get Lost) by The Guantanamo Bay City Rollers. The GBC Rollers are Charlottesville’s own Ryan Thompson and Tim Westberg. Recording assistance is credited to Order of the Dying Orchid‘s Thomas Dean.

It looks as though this fall will be a great time for shows in Charlottesville. Here are the some new additions:

9/4/05 – Edie Sedgwick, The Creeping Nobodies @ Better than Television
9/11/05 – Crooked Fingers @ the Satellite Ballroom
9/17/05 – Blackalicious @ the Satellite Ballroom
9/18/05 – Tilly and the Wall, Neva Dinova, Orenda Fink, David Dondero @ the Satellite Ballroom
11/7/05 – The Perceptionists ft. Mr Lif, Akrobatik, DJ Fakts One @ the Satellite Ballroom
10/7/05 – Pietasters, PAMA International (members of the Specials and the Madness), The Stabones @ the Satellite Ballroom

…and that’s just a start. I’m sure a lot more shows will pop up as the fall semester at UVA starts. Check back often for updates
