TONIGHT: C-Ville’s debut of NEW BOSS, Tea Bazaar, 9pm

March 29th, 2014 · 2 Comments · By

Great local line-up at Tea Bazaar tonight, including the first appearance of Order of the Dying Orchid‘s dead-then-reborn-like-the-phoenix as New Boss. New Boss (née Order) performs material that perhaps originated in Lynchburg, Virginia, when I was in middle school! They’ve been around a while, with an historic line-up, the alumni network numbering in the high twenties. The line-up now is Thomas Dean (Frank Sinatra of the Big Boss Ratpack) Rob Dobson (Big Air, The Fire Tapes) Nick Rubin (Nick Rubin), Parker Smith (Peter Parker) and Carolyn Zelikow (Carolyn Zelikow).

Also on the bill is Klauss, a group from D.C. who recorded their latest album Totems at White Star out in the county. They cite Beatles, T-Rex, Nirvana, Bowie, Elliot Smith and Dirty Projectors as influences. A track is embedded below for you to make your own aesthetic pronunciations:

Also on the bill is PEAK, which includes members from Super Vacations. One of their tracks is embedded below:

Show is at the Tea Bazaar, starts at 9pm and is $7 .. will be a grand party
