Friday 12/6

7:30 p.m. Ray Brass Band at Fig (1331 West Main street, Charlottesville, Virginia 22903). FREE.

If you’re in the mood to hear some Balkan brass band music, head to Fig restaurant on the corner to see the Raya Brass band all the way from Brooklyn.  They bring the energy baroque grandeur of European folk music to the States in a big way.  You can listen to their tunes here.

5:00 p.m. Food and Fire event/Gift Forest at the Bridge PAI (209 Monticello Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22902). FREE.

If you want to have a more relaxed evening, check out the Food and Fire event at the Bridge.  There will be a fire pit, food trucks, drinks, art and music. Also while you’re there, you could check out the Gift Forest, a curates selection of handmade and vintage gifts which just opened last week.

5:30-7:30 p.m. Art auction at the Haven(112 West Market St., Charlottesville, VA 22902). $10 (tickets here).

Also on Friday evening, the Haven will have its annual  art auction, pop up shop, raffle and open studios.  Art and homemade goods will be up for auction, and artists in residence will open their studios up for those in attendance. Doors, studios, raffle and pop up shop open at 5:30 PM. and the silent auction goes from 6 PM to  7:30 PM

Saturday 12/7

1:00 p.m. Ha Ha  Tonka at the Southern. FREE (must reserve tickets by emailing  hahatonka@wnrn.org)

Folk group Ha Ha Tonka will be playing a matinee show at the cafe in the Southern. If you want some laid-back acoustic music to start up your Saturday, check it out!. Listen to Ha Ha Tonka’s song “American Ambition” here .
