tea bazaar shows this weekend

Hey, guys, put down your hamburgers/beers/illegal fireworks for a second because there are two Tea Bazaar shows this week you might want to read about:

July 5 at Tea Bazaar: Eidolons are a band from Portland who remind me a little of Grizzly Bear with their folk-influenced indie rock and soft vocals. Big Hush is from D.C., and plays laid-back, lo-fi music perfect for a calm, post-Fourth evening. (9 p.m., $5)

Thrill Jockey artist Glenn Jones will play on July 6 at Tea Bazaar. Glenn Jones’ latest album, My Garden State, is a slice of Americana depicting his recent journey back to his home in New Jersey. It’s an instrumental folk record that focuses on his skill with an acoustic guitar. The poster is incorrect, but one-half of Grand Banks is opening: Davis Salisbury a.k.a. Dias Queue, who will also be playing contemplative solo guitar work. And, in between artists, DJ Hummingbird Feeder will be spinning some records for y’all. (9 p.m., $7)

So come camp out at Tea Bazaar this weekend, it should be a good one.

Dais Queue is Davis Salisbury, aka one half of Grand Banks (Tyler, the other half, can’t make it so Davis is just gonna play solo). and I’ll be playing records before and in-between!

Glenn Jones will be doing an interview and possibly a few songs on WTJU’s “Garage Sale” this afternoon. He is scheduled to be on around 3pm but the show runs 2-4 and is a rockin’ time.
