Yo La Tengo @ The Jefferson

Very excited about seeing YLT tonight! As far as I know, tickets are still available, though not cheap ($20-25). Doors are at 7, and there’s no opener. YLT are playing two sets: one soft, the second hard. I’m guessing they’ll play from around 8 to 10, but we’ll keep you updated on Facebook and Twitter as we learn more. In the meantime, here’s a great article from Nailgun alum / guardian angel, James, that delves into the band’s Cville connections. And here’s the group with some dones:

Above Yo la Tengo gaze sullenly through a screen of donuts, courtesy of The Blognut, a helpful blog about celebrities and donuts. Here’s the interview which accompanied this image:

Friend of Blognut: Favorite donut?

Ira Kaplan (guitar): [puzzled] Donuts? Hmm, I don’t really eat donuts.

Georgia Hubley (drums): [deadpan] I like whole wheat glazed. Whole wheat glazed.

Ira: [admiringly] That’s a classy choice, a classy donut.

James McNew (bass): [happily] Donuts? They’re donuts, they’re all good. It’s still a donut. How can you have a bad donut??

Ira: [skeptically] But why would you have a donut when you could have a chocolate chip cookie?

See you at the show!

fun fact: the man behind blognut is a former charlottesville resident, as is his wife, who is a pitchfork staff writer, which should really make coogan fucking stoked as shit.

Haha, I noticed there was a special, much deserved focus on Spudnuts on Blognut. Thanks, baconfat.
