Waxahatchee, Doppelganger and more at Magnolia

Tonight, there is a house show (so you’ll have to ask around to find out the address) at Magnolia.

Waxahatchee is one Katie Crutchfield from Brooklyn by way of Alabama. One of her folk-punk (or perhaps just plain folk) songs, “Be Good,” was just picked as NPR’s Song of the Day.

Accompanying Waxahatchee on tour is a group called Swearin’. They’re a four-piece rock ‘n roll group out of Brooklyn.

Local acts Firetrucks and Doppelganger (which is Bailee and Danny Z. from Northern Diver, etc) are also performing.

Bring $5-$8 for touring bands and please remember to be respectful that the show is happening in someone’s home. House shows are a rad thing, especially on a warm June night and it’s way generous of folks to put on concerts in their living room. Show starts around 8pm. See you there!

P.S. Don’t forget to stop by Art Drinks (hosted by Piedmont Council for the Arts) on the patio at Maya between 5:30-7:30pm! Win raffle prizes (like tickets to superCLAW) and learn about upcoming arts and culture events around town.
