Fire Tapes at the Tea House tonight

The Fire Tapes are playing at the Tea Bazaar tonight! (Sorry for the late notice on this one; I’d heard rumors, but never saw a confirmed listening until yesterday…)

Anyway, the Fire Tapes are one of my favorite bands in town at the moment, and I highly encourage you to check them out if you haven’t already. If you have heard them — I’m glad to see they’re slowly but surely building the audience they deserve here — then I’m sure you’re already a fan of their slow, country-flavored shoegazery fuzz-rock. They put out an album a few months back which is really solid, but their live show is louder and looser and totally worth seeing.

There’s two other bands on the bill; the Trillions, whose name I recognize (I think?) but whose music I have not heard, and an act called Well-Worn, whom I’m not familiar with.  The show should start around 8:30, and the cover charge is $5. Those of you who are not traveling or otherwise occupied with the Holidays should definitely come check it out!

Holy hell. These Trillions folks sound awesome. Anyone know who is first and why on earth is this show starting at 8:30?

Starter spot is a toss-up; could be the Trillions or Well-Worn, not sure yet. Also, fear not – “8:30” most likely will be closer to “9:30”. And yes, those Trillion folks are quite awesome!

See, if we say 9:30, everyone will show up around midnight. But if we say 8:30, people might get there by 11.
