Future Islands

One of Baltimore’s most promising bands, Future Islands, bring their dark, spare, synth-pop back to the Tea Bazaar tonight. They’ve deservedly been getting gobs of praise lately from pretty much every publication you can name for their brand new release ‘On The Water’, and they also put on a hell of a live show, with frontman Sam Herring in a sort of grandiose, operatic role. Anyway, they’re really great and you should really check em out.

Opening up is a fellow Baltimore act, and touring companions Ed Schrader’s Music Beat and Harrisonburg’s spastic rockers Buck Gooter. This starts at 9PM, and costs $12 at the door.

Also, Red Rattles are playing at Miller’s tonight. That one’s free and presumably goes past midnight if you’re interested in seeing both shows.
