Rock n’ Roll at the Tea House, Shadow Puppets at The Bridge

There’s a fun little rock show going down at the Tea Bazaar tonight. The latest incarnation of Articulate Chewbacca premiers, finally whittled down to just a two piece band from the one-time mega-monstrosity that it began as. Reports indicate that Adam and Scott will be performing with a drum machine filling the void left by Dylan’s departure.

Also on the bill are Baltimore’s Other Colors, featuring members of a band called Fossil Eyes, who you may remember from an Alhamraa show with Invisible Hand not long ago. And leading off this evening are local experimental rockers The Wiles. This one starts at 9PM and costs $5.

Meanwhile (or perhaps, actually, a bit earlier in the evening), there’s a pretty unique and interesting sounding event at The Bridge called ‘A Chance Shadow’, a shadow puppetry performance¬†featuring an international cast of puppeteers and musicians, and based around the poetry of Xu Zhimo and Federico Garcia Lorca. The show has apparently been partially funded by the Jim Henson Foundation, which is some pretty high-level puppetry street cred. This one begins at 8PM and is¬†$5.

… when you told me about this show, I thought you said “Fossilized,” and I was thinking, “who the hell is that?”
