Interesting show going down Tuesday night. Here’s the info…

“The small garage on 1st Street by the Hill and Wood funeral home has recently been turned into an alternative art space/concert venue/amateur movie theater/silk screen print studio/potluck dining hall/etc. The Garage will be opening its door for its first open-air show this Tuesday night!

Come out for an intimate, folky night with…

Ben & Bruno (Grand Rapids, MI)
Small Sur (Grand Rapids, MI)
The Hill and Wood (Cville)

The show starts at 7:00 pm. Be there!

Tuesday, June 17th: 7:00 pm
The Garage
On 1st Street N between Market and Jefferson Streets
Across from Lee Park
(Although we have no official street address, you’ll recognize us by the open garage door.)

Check out Ben and Bruno’s MySpace to hear their music…

Stay tuned for more to come from the Garage.”

whoa! that’s awesome. I’m very surprised, and extraordinarily pleased, to hear that that’s happening. Can’t make Tuesday, but I’ll have to check out their next event for sure.

So who made it to the show? How was it? I drove by that garage yesterday afternoon… that place is tiny.

The show was incredibly intimate (with folks sitting in a semicircle and on an old couch in the street) and very low-key (with people lounging on blankets on slope of Lee Park). It certainly is small, but the open garage door makes it seem like a tiny haven for tiny music.
