Colin Powell + Myself at RADIO BISTRO

Radio Bistro is happening again tonight!

I’m pleased to report that this weekly event has so far been a success; we were offered the opportunity to DJ in the C&O’s downstairs Bistro every Monday on a somewhat temporary and provisional basis, since DJing at the C&O had never really happened before, and no one was quite sure if or how it would work. But after the past few weeks, we’ve gotten the hiccups ironed out and the Bistro is now a smoothly-oiled machine, appearing on Monday nights for the foreseeable future.

Tonight the DJs will be myself (DJ Hummingbird Feeder) and Colin Powell, aka Brother Breakdown — you may know him from the Grits & Gravy events, or recognize him as head of the Rock department at WTJU (in fact he’s just returned to a regular weekly show there; Tuesday nights, I believe). Colin loves old Soul and Funk, but likes plenty of other good music too, and I will be playing everything from Krautrock to Rockabilly to Jazz. (It’s 100% vinyl, too!).  We start at 10pm and continue until last call (some time before 2) — there’s no cover, and the kitchen is open late. So stop by and have a drink or a bite to eat and say hello and enjoy some good music! I’m looking forward to it. Adam Smith is scheduled to resume the helm for a solo set next week.
