(road does not end)

Tonight The Bridge will kick off their Spring Film Series with Underground Music and Noise. The screening will feature Meghan Eckman’s Road Does Not End. Here’s a description of the film:”Get your mind blown!!! Follow the zany adventures of the band Animental as they tour across the United States and meet some of the most far out freaks and geaks in the country. See Minneapolis punk metal thrash band Faggot perform and go for a ride with Minneapolis’ Michael Gaughan’s rock n’ roll summer camp. Then take a trip with Animental to Portland and hang out with Smegma – and hear their take on playing noise music for the past 33 years. Learn about circuit bending madness with Coitus in Phoenix, then ride the heights to the tallest office building in Amarillo, Texas and visit the offices of eccentric millionaire Stanley Marsh through the eyes of the young wild art star LBK. Come with Animental and experience the behind the scenes look at what‘s happening in the good ole U.S. of AAAAAAAA. Let’s go for a ride!!!”And here is a description of the screening:”The series will start with an explosion of psychedelic sounds and sights brought to you by local filmmaker Meghan Eckman. Part 1 of the program introduces an on-the-road documentary following the band Animental on their tour across the US as they meet the most far-our freaks in the country. Part 2 continues the wild ride with experimental animations and shorts by members of bands such as Neon Hunk, Wolf Eyes, Smegma, and Nautical Almanac. The evening will also feature a live musical performance by Charlottesville’s own ruckus-makers Grand Banks.”

That’s right! Grand Banks, Charlottesville’s own noise-demons, will play a live set. Come out and have fun.

After the films you can head to Atomic Burrito to see The Railways and Poor Farm.

Or you can see The Stabones, Fire At Will, and One Eyed Suicide at Outback Lodge.
