i have a radio show

(a long tradition of nerds on the radio)

Ladies and Gentlemen, your worst fears have come to pass; they have allowed me on the radio. I’m doing a 1am-3am show on WTJU on Sunday nights (technically it’s early Monday morning), called “The Eclectic Mayhem,” because I couldn’t think of a better title and stealing from the Muppets always works. Did the first show last night and it went pretty well; I played Faust, the Beach Boys, Autechre, This Heat, Roxanne Shante, the Shaggs, Venetian Snares, Yellow Swans, and some other things.

Anyhow; tune in if you’re up that late. I have the great honor of going on after Radio Wowsville, the long-running all-ridiculous Sunday night extravaganza, who were seriously cracking me up with their last set of the show last night. Also of note: John Ruscher (nailgun’s founder) has a TJU show as well; he hosts “Concentric Squares” on alternating Monday afternoons, 2-4pm; and John Bylander, nailgun’s third contributor and long-standing WTJU sidekick, will also be starting his own show soon. What can I say? It’s a small town, full of music-lovin’ folks. Check us out on 91.1 FM.

I’ll also mention that DJ Danger Dimples kicks ass with “Concentric Squares” on the Mondays when I’m not. She’s rockin’ it on the air right now.

Aha! Yeah, i wondered what had happened to the “You, Me, Dancing” show … glad to hear it’s coming back in the fall. I think I’ll probably move to another time slot by then, is the general plan.

John Bylander is a scholar, and a saint.

I agree on the toe tapping Venetian Snares. Next time you should provide some John Oswald to dance to.
