Baltimore Bands and Not-Rhythm-Bandit at the Tea Bazaar

January 12th, 2011 · 3 Comments · By

There’s a very worthwhile show at the Tea Bazaar tonight. First up is The Art Department, who sorta remind me of Danielson or of Montreal, with a lot of quick, knotty guitars and shouty vocals. I’ve seen them play in Baltimore recently and they’re quite good!

They’re on tour with another Baltimore artist called Ami Dang, who plays what I could only describe as loop-based experimental Indian vocal pop. A quick listen and I think you’ll know exactly what I mean.

Closing out is Mr. Dylan Mulshine with his new project Teen Dreams, which is apparently new and different from the now defunct(?) Rhythm Bandit. We’ll just have to wait and see what’s in store!

$5, 9PM.
