Turbo Fruits, Order (and Bad Cop) played the Tea Bazaar (videos)

Turbo Fruits, a spin-off of the disbanded Be Your Own Pet, played the Tea Bazaar last week, and as I’m usually a fan of whatever Jonas Stein does, last Thursday was a great time. The guy can play the hell out of his guitar (as he demonstrated with a million guitar solos), and when they played songs like “Naked With You,” most of the people in attendance were probably thinking the same thing I was.  The band also contains BYOP’s John Eatherly, which explains why the band sounded so tight together (Matt Hearn now plays drums for the band) (also, did anybody else know that both of the Jeff the Brotherhood guys used to be in Be Your Own Pet?). Here’s “Mama’s Mad Cos I Fried My Brain” :

I had never seen Order before last Thursday (despite living in Charlottesville for 2 years now) and I’ll have to start making up for lost time soon, because this band is a sight to behold. I’ve seen The Jesus Lizard comparisons, and I thought about Les Savy Fav a little bit when they were playing, but those don’t even do the band justice. I wish I had gotten the song with Rich and the microphone in his mouth, but I promise this is the next best thing:

and Bad Cop also played. If somebody really likes them and bugs me enough I’ll edit it someday.

Hey, John Eatherly used to be in TF, but no longer. He left a while and now the lineup is Dave McCowen, Matt Hearn and Kingsley Brock..and Jonas of course.

Great video… I hadn’t noticed a HD cam in the audience, much less two. How was it captured / time synced?

it was done w/ 3 flipcams, which were then synced to an audio track from a marantz recording device. i manually sync them up track by track in final cut pro, which isn’t too difficult once you’ve done it a bunch of times, but definitely time consuming.

also, special shout out to jacob for manning one of the flipcams.
