Shows at Outback and the Tea House

Why? are playing at Outback Lodge tonight, along with Cryptacize and DoofgoblinWhy? are a cLOUDDEAD / Anticon-affiliated trio from Oakland, who are gaining attention for their strange mix of indie-rap and bedroom rock sensebilities. Cryptacize are also from California, and feature a former member of Deerhoof, which seems to be enough to get most people in the door. Doofgoblin is a local Albemarlian (and former Californian) who makes excellent glitch-beat landscapes; I’ve had the pleasure of playing a few shows with John-Doofgoblin, and he’s both a sweet guy and a solid musician. The show’s cheap: $7! So go check it out. Doors at 9.

OR go to the Tea House, and see Tereu Tereu, Sean Walsh and the National Reserve, and Meredith Bragg. Starts 10-ish, with a $5 cover.

John Bylander (who will also be helping out here on Nailgun) did a pretty sweet poster for the Why? show, I’ll see if I can find the image online or scan a copy this afternoon…

Too bad we couldn’t get that poster digitized in time, due to technical discrepancies… it both looked good AND involved the triumvirate of Nailgun writiers.
