Tuesday: VOTE! also, CLAW!

First, and most importantly: if you are a Virginia resident, don’t forget to vote in the presidential primary election tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 12). It’s not often that Virginia’s primary actually counts, since it comes so late in the nomination cycle — I’m 25 and have never voted in a primary before. So; if you live here, be sure to vote tommorrow. You don’t have to be a registered member of any party, just show up to the same place where you’d usually vote. Any Virginia resident can vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary, but not in both.

Secondly, tomorrow night is the first meeting of C.L.A.W. — for Charlottesville Lady Arm Wrestlers — soon to be a regular event at the Blue Moon Diner. CLAW, as the name implies, will involve Charlottesville Ladies Arm-Wrasslin’ each other; this week’s celebrity judges include Jim Waive and Sarah White, and I do believe that clever pseudonyms and Luchadora-style outfits are encouraged. When I was there last week they were testing out the professional arm-wrestling table; I never knew such a thing existed, but they have one.

CLAW begins at 8pm, but I for one plan show up early for dinner and some drinks before it gets packed. All proceeds from CLAW will be donated to various women’s charities; this week’s event is sponsoring The Voice Project, an educational theatre program for inmates at the Fluvanna Correctional Facility for Women.

What you’re not mentioning is the time you spent at the Fluvanna Correctional Facility for Women, Senator James. If you have nothing to hide, why don’t you tell the people about that?
