New Year’s Eve stuff

In addition to the (SOLD OUT) Gogol Bordello show at the Jefferson, there’s a few other fun things tonight which may be of interest:

Lun and Ali from the Tea House are throwing a Dance Party at Random Row; apparently I’m DJing first, starting at about 10pm-ish, and other folks will go on afterwards to carry us through the last hours of the year. There’s also a thing with Patrick Critzer spinning at Zinc, which is fortuitously just down the street; I’m 80% sure this event is open to the public, and I basically plan on stumbling back and forth between these two spots all night.

And if you’re going to be working, staying home, or driving somewhere (sober, I hope), there’s also gonna be a 4-hour long version of Black Circle Revolution on WTJU tonight; Ramona Sparks had courageously volunteered to do not only her show but the 2hr time-slot afterwards, and a host of fine WTJU folk have offered to stop by and help celebrate and keep her company; so if you’re tuned in to 91.1 FM between 11pm – 3am, expect to hear lots of good-natured whoopin’ and hollerin’ in-between all the awesome hardcore punk songs.

Happy 2010, everyone! I’m putting the finishing touches on my “Best of 2009” list, it should be up tonight or tomorrow, and I expect some of the other Nailgun contributors are working on their lists as well.

apparently gogol bordello played at the box until 4am. my coworkers are trying to rub in the fact that i missed it but little do they know that gogol bordello is not on my radar of things that matter. anyways, happy new year!
