openings & closings

Jacob just helpfully called in with a list of places that are STILL OPEN today: Christian’s, Mudhouse, West Main restaurant, Feast (no café), Market St Market, Zinc (snow party w/ $1 Bud Light), Random Row (screen print shop called “the Pomp” opening, w/ a band if they can make it), 12th St Taphouse, and Mel’s are all open. Blue Moon will be open tomorrow. Oh, and the ABC store is open.” I can add that Vinegar Hill is open tonight, but only for the 4:20 and 7:15 shows (we cancelled the 9:30). And of course there’s Drunk Tigers at The Bridge.

Again, I’d like to reiterate that this information is for people who are already within safe walking distance of these places… if you’re any further away than that, DON’T TRY DRIVING ANYWHERE! Snow is the funnest thing ever (well, second funnest, after swimming) but it’s also important to be safe and stay warm.

Oh, and if anybody has more news or updates (or a good photo), leave it in the comments!

How appropriate was the Invisible Hand / Drunk Tigers flyer for this week? We really should’ve brought out the skis as soon as we saw this one. Good call, guys!

thanks Aaron. I was pretty happy with that image myself. it’s from an early-60’s magazine of knitting patterns that I borrowed from my lady friend — she was mostly interested in it because it contains some bizarre / slightly terrifying patterns for knitted face masks, which are pretty awesome and trippy, but for some reason I went with the image of the wholesome handsome couple for the poster. Actually, it was mostly because the knitting pattern in the background matched the grid on the font-diagram that I cut all the letters out of.

Anyway, glad you like the poster! an OK poster for a good show, as it turned out.
