Alexis Gideon

Just realized nobody had written about the Tea House tonight — headliner is Alexis Gideon, who’s supposed to be pretty awesome. Apparently he’s got some sort of good-things-from Baltimore connection, and I think Jacob mentioned he was excited about the show, but also Meghan Eckman went out of her way to clarify that she thinks this is gonna be awesome. Apparently when she was touring extensively with Animental a few years back, Alexis was “my favorite band of everyone I saw. “

Openers are Bear War, a well-liked, new-ish local dance-party rock band thing, and Shelley Short, whom I don’t know anything about.

Sounds good! I’m definitely gonna go check that out after I watch “Pretty in Pink” at the Paramount. {I’ve only ever seen that movie once — it was when I was about 20, and fairly drunk — so I’m gonna go with an open mind and explore the possibility of re-evaluating my largely-negative opinion…}

    I’m chiming in late, but Alexis is great. I saw him at the Tea Bazaar the last time (I believe) he came through town and it was a lot of fun. I initially heard about him via Meghan Eckman’s Animental tour documentary, Road Does Not End, which is also awesome.
