Wednesday Rock Marathon shows

Thanks to everyone who came to the dance party last night! It was a lot of fun.

The Rock Marathon is now fully underway… after a hangover breakfast, I’m heading over to the station to answer phones for the Stax Records show at Noon. Colin Powell will be DJing it — his set at the dance party was just ridiculous, and I think he kind of upstaged everyone (in a great way).

After that there’s a Bonnie “Prince” Billy show at 2:00pm (where you can win tickets for the upcoming cville show!), followed by a Radiohead Show and then a Frank Zappa show (which I believe wil focus on Zappa’s live stuff).  I’ll be back on the phones at 9:00pm for Professor Bebop’s show about songs from 1959, which should also be really great.

I’ll be sticking around later — at 11:00pm, in what’s usually the Radio Freedonia time slot, Nick and Jordan are doing a Brian Eno show, and afterwards the Hep Imp is doing a Negativland show from 1-3am, and then a Tangerine Dream show from 3am to 6 in the morning!

What’s not to like? Turn yr radios on and get yr wallets ready!

whew! one day of the marathon under the belt. I missed the early AM preview show due to my immense hangover, but I recovered I had a great time hanging out for Stax, 1959, and Eno, and am now back at home groovin’ out to the Negativland show, which I’m enjoying far more than I thought I might… I’m taping it, and I plan on staying up late and doing the Tangerine Dream show afterwards!
