Al Stewart at Gravity Lounge

¬†At the suggestion of my friend David, I’d like to chime in and spread the word about the one and only Al Stewart playing at Gravity Lounge tonight (March 3). This is the kind of show that wouldn’t make it to Charlottesville without Gravity. $25 may be out of the price range for some, but if you can swing it, I bet it will be worth it.

Stewart is probably most famous for his 1976 single “Year of the Cat,” from the LP of the same name. David’s band, D.B.B. Plays Cups, actually covered Stewart’s tune “On The Border” at a Tea Bazaar show last spring. Here’s a bootleg recording (thanks to Kaveh!), in all of its off-kilter and slightly-out-of-tune-bass glory:
