Shaun Harvey and the Velvet Rut

January 27th, 2009 · 2 Comments · By

You may have noticed that CvilleMuse has been dormant since the New Year… Shaun Harvey (the blog’s main contributor) wrote the other day to give me the scoop:

“[…] cvilleMUSE is shutting down.  Too bad on my end, but I actually think it’s a good thing.  If you haven’t stopped by to check out my new music blog thing here it is:  I’m calling it:  the velvet rut Yeah it’s a downgrade from WordPress to Blogger but the devil is in other details really.  The music is more important than the platform in my humble opinion.

We agree, and we’re glad to see that Shaun is going to continue to write about local music; we’re glad to have him as our ally. {“The Velvet Rut,” by the way, is an old-time nickname for Charlottesville, as is “The Hook” — it’s a city that’s infamously hard to leave.}

Keep up the good work, Shaun!
