Three shows, 11 bands, and a dance festival

There’s a TON of stuff going on in the near future, including three shows tonight:

Birdlips are playing at IS, along with The Never and Tokyo. The Never are from Chapel Hill, and Tokyo (confusingly enough) are from Virginia Beach. Cliff (I think) says: “We saw the Never live a little while back and they totally blew our minds.  It really is something not to be missed and I’m not just saying that because we are playing with them.” It’s at 9:30pm, and it’s an All Ages show — $6 for oldsters, $8 for those under 21.

PantherBurn are playing at The Box — I really must check them out one of these days, they contain Micheaux Hood, Aaron Farrington, Phillip St. Ours and one other person whom I don’t know.  It’s a free show, probably starting 10ish.

… aaaand at the Tea House, there’s a benefit show “to help raise money for Vet Bills for Kaya, a golden retriever who was recently hit by a car and is recovering. ” The lineup has a whopping SEVEN bands, including local favorites the Invisible Hand, EMT, DJ 3rd Degree, and the Rock&Roll Cannibals (which features Tristan from Screaming Infidels and Rat from Accordian Death Squad), as well as three more acts I’ve never heard of: the Dubsettors, Klymaxx Mt Stringband, and Dr Buzzkill and the Downers. It starts at 7pm, and donations are $3 and up.

Oh, and the two-weekend-long Live Arts Dance Festival starts tonight; More details are available here.

I’ll have more updates tomorrow! Because even more things are happening!

The Never are pretty cool. We played with them at the tea house back in May.
