Country Christmas tonight!

The 5th Annual Country Christmas Show is tonight, with the Acorn Sisters, Jim Waive, and Barling & Collins.

The Acorn Sisters are Sarah White and Sian Richards, who harmonize wonderfully and sing an impeccable selection of great old-timey songs.

Jim Waive will be playing with his band the Young Divorcees; if you’ve caught his solo sets at the Diner these past months, come check out (or get reminded) what he can do with a full band.

Stephen Barling and Brandon Collins are another local folky-country duo, who you might also know from their performances at the Diner or at Miller’s — or because they were two of the members of the Dirty Round Eyes, Atsushi Miura’s backing band. They’re kinda goofy and fun.

The Country Chrismas show is always really amazing (I’ve been to the last… three, I think?) so I highly recommend coming to this one tonight. Although in past years these shows have been at the Tea House, this year it will be at Gravity Lounge at 9pm (doors at 8).  Sarah White says: “This means more room for dancing, more tables for sitting, and more room to hang up all those twinkling lights and tinsel that are the true meaning of Christmas […] It’s really a year-end celebration, a chance to spend time with people we love; it’s not overly religious, though there are some traditional songs.” Sian says: “We will be twinkling the place up and makin it cozy.”

So 9pm at Gravity;  it’s $10, or only $7 if you bring some canned food for the Thomas Jefferson Area Food Bank.
