Gracing The Southern tonight to do their best at reliving 80’s Indie Garage Rock revival is The Baseball Project. Fronted by Peter Buck of R.E.M. as well Scott McCaughey of The Young Fresh Fellows and some other classic bros I don’t recognize by name. These cats do a real solid throwback kind of a thing and while their sound isn’t anything game changing it still looks to be a fun show if you wanna listen to some catchy and popped out rock sounds and see some legends play in a way intimate environment. Opening this show is Borrowed Beams Of Light who do a real solid Art Pop Rock type of thing. One of the better and more solid acts in town it would be silly of you to miss their set if you are already palling on going to this (So yeah get to the show on time people). Doors for this are at 8:30PM and this costs $$17$$

ALONZO ADDS: The other classic bro is Steve Wynn of the 80’s Paisley Underground band The Dream Syndicate,¬†which in it’s earliest (and best?) incarnation included a very young Karl Precoda on guitar. Precoda eventually went on to become a grad student here in Charlottesville, where he started the band Last Days of May, which was great but nothing at all like The Baseball Project.
