Cville All-Star Triple-Threat at the Tea Bazaar Tonight!

There’s a Tea Bazaar show this fine Friday night, co-headlined by three solid local bands:

Corsair are a retro-metal / hard-rock act, recommended for fans of Led Zep, early Aerosmith, and Iron Maiden; their lead guitarist Marie (whom you may remember from Mass Sabbath) recently graced the cover of the C-Ville‘s controversial “Women in Rock” issue.

Red Satellites are also mining the richness of 70’s Rock History; they’re a glam band with a strong resemblance to Roxy Music or T-Rex; some offstage antics aside, they’re a consistently great act and well worth checking out.

Astronomers are a similarly solid local rock act who have been truckin’ along for a about two years (I think?) now; they’re equally at home on a big stage or at a house party, and their Lance Brenner-produced EP is worth a listen.

All together it’s a solid and well-rounded bill of local rock. I have absolutely no idea what order the bands are playing in, but whichever ones you can catch you will be sure to enjoy. Doors are at 8pm (show around 9, presumably), and the cover charge is $7. {UPDATE: Gary says: “set times are red satellites at 830, corsair at 930, and
astronomers at 1030.”
}

The Tea House closes at midnight, so if you’re still up for some fun afterwards I highly recommend heading over to the Box to hear Adam Smith and Thomas Dean play records. No cover charge (although it’s 21+), Adam and Thomas have swell taste and will be spinning fun tracks until last call.
