Arbouretum, Andrew Cedermark, Pontiak, and Goblet played Random Row Books (some videos)

This must have been one of the last Random Row shows (well, definitely the last one I went to), and it was a damn good one. *** I regrettably missed Goblet (Ned Oldham + youngsters) and Pontiak (check out this nasty P4K review of their new album that ran yesterday). I hope this incarnation of Goblet plays again sometime soon, but alas, it’s a total mystery if they will.

Andrew Cedermark and Buffalo Wildwing started just as I got there. If you keep up with this blog you can tell that we like his music quite a bit. Here is him performing the leadoff track for his first LP, Moon Deluxe, coming out in early August via Underwater Peoples:

Baltimore’s Arbouretum (that’s with a U) was up next and last. I’ll try not to compare them to any bands, but this is hard, so….they struck me as having a Warren Zevon-vibe. See for yourself:

Zevon-esque? Maybe? Even a little bit? Oh well. Check for more of these posts in the next few days.

*** Random Row is still open for business and other events though! They actually screened Herzog’s Fitzcarraldo last week.

Man you sure did miss Pontiak. Seriously , this band slayed. In as much as I had thought that I knew what to expect – I was so wrong and they kicked so much ass.
